I’ve been on ICT (In-Camp Training), or known casually as ‘reservice’. It’s an annual 2-3 weeks recall for national military service, where we had some trainings (or what we call ‘refresher courses’) to refresh our memories of previous military knowledge.
I’m a combat medic. My specialty was in military paramedical protocols. For 2 days, we engaged in battle field casualty management training, refresher for CPR basics and a session of live infusion (Yes, we do poke needles into each other’s veins!)
Other than these two training days, we did nothing else but SLACK…
(I’m KIDDING!!! There is no way we will admit that we slack in anyway during our ICT. It’s a heresy! Let me rephrase that…)
Other than these two training days at SMTI, we had more training back in base. Two days of BCS deployment and another two days of ambulence management. In between these trainings, we helped out a bit at the medical center…
So we really had lots to do during our ICT.
(Do not believe any of the ‘NSMan do nothing but slack during ICT’ stories. We’d get prosecuted…)

You should have noticed by now, I have an obsession with watches. My interest in watches actually began long ago before I was in the States, but it remained dorment until I lost my Tag Heuer two years ago…
While still in misery of the loss, I started researching online on various possible choices for a replacement… and I ended up with more than one.
Now I’m crazy about all kinds of watches. Tourbillons… diver’s watches… chronographs… I love them all. I can’t seem to stop! (I’m just kiddin’... I really have stopped… for now…)
So is it a sin to be a watch aficionado?

Intriguing…

I wonder who makes it…

Did you sometimes feel like you don’t know what you want?
Or did you, even when you think you’re quite certain, find moments of hesitation?
I did.
Every step I took, I questioned myself. A few too much. Even got my own determination quivered.
... then one day I asked a new question: why bother?
Why bother so much about the infinite uncertainties?
Why waste the time and effort with all the are you sure’s and what if’s?
Why not just go ahead with what you do… change course ONLY when you deem necessary… enjoy the fruit of success when it comes, or the lesson learn from failure… and live LIFE?
Give it a try… If you do not, how do you know it’d not work?
How will you know you do or do not like it?
... so I stopped questioning myself.

What is the first thought that comes to mind when you see this watch?

Beautiful? Big? Rusty?
You’re right if you thought ‘rusty’, coz that is a fact. It has a rusty bezel made from rusted steel from Titanic that sank almost a hundred years ago…
HUH?!
Romain Jerome, a Swiss watchmaker has created a new series of limited edition timepieces called the Titanic DNA which uses parts of the actual ship in its construction.

The watchface has a black dial thanks to a lacquer paint made with coal recovered from the wreck and the housing will be composed of precious metals like platinum in addition to steel procured from what

Here’s some of shots I did on my favorite watches over the past few months. Believe it or not, they’re taken with just a point-and-shoot Fujifilm F10 and some playing around the lightings around a homemade lightbox. Of course, there’s some touching up with Adobe Photoshop… not denying that.
